NFL 2023 Commies vs. Giants Week 7: Are D.C. Sports Going Into A Big 4 Tank???

The Commies are back again. It took literally one game for them to revert back to the Dan Snyder raised piece of shit poverty franchise. Unfortunately, I have finally accepted it. I absolutely hate watching this football team play. And that sucks because I have to deal with watching them for 10 more weeks. Even ownership has said everyone is up for grabs. They have given up on us this season. And I have too. However, if football is on, then I am going to watch it. So it’s just a lose-lose situation for pretty much everyone involved. There aren’t many positives to talk about. It’s just a whole bunch of bad.

The Washington Streak breakers/terrible record makers were back again this week. In the first half, Tress Way had more punt yards than any half of his career with 357 yards punted. We allowed the Giants to score their first first half touchdown of the whole season. We helped Darren Waller get in the end zone for the first time this year. We let the Giants end their streak of 98 games without a blocked field goal. Just about everything went about as poorly as it could have. I think these stats sum it up so I don’t have to waste my time going in depth on how nobody (besides the best player on our team, Tress Way) did their job.

At this point, I think all I can really say is congrats to the Giants. They have our number and will always be there to remind us that we are the definition of a poverty franchise. Since 2017, they’ve only won 33 games and 8 of those games have come against us. Of course, this is a stat that I am entirely able to ignore leading up to the game. It comes after the game, and having lost my money that I come to realize how incapable we are of performing against our divisional rival and a lesser poverty franchise. That might be worded weirdly but you know what I am trying to say. This team just makes no sense. Like next week we play the Eagles and are somehow going to play them close despite them being more talented than us in literally every single position (except punter). There will never be any sense of consistency with this franchise.

Even Ron Rivera was inconsistent this week. He strayed away from his usual nature of doing absolutely nothing and just standing there gazing out into space with his arms folded and mouth sealed shut. For the first time this year, the camera panned to him and he was actually doing something. Words were leaving his mouth. He was even yelling at the refs. This was insane.  It took until week 7 for me to see the camera pan to Ron and watch him actually do something. I did find it pretty funny that he was already accusing the refs of blowing the game for us and it was only the second quarter. “That’s two years in a row now!” We had the same crew from last years week 16 no call that blew our playoff chances. The refs did actually lose us that game. But this year the Giants definitely didn’t need any help to take us down.

I’m seeing reports that we have made Chase, Montez, and apparently the whole roster available for trades. This is all according to twitter so who knows but it still sucks to see that on the timeline. It’s going to suck even more when we end up flipping Chase Young for two 3rd rounders. And then those two picks bust and Chase Young becomes a HOFer for a team like the Lions or Jags. I wish I was more optimistic with our front office but they have given me no reason to be. At this point, it is what it is.

We may have the full DC tank upon us. Wizards are tanking, Nat’s tanking, and Caps tanking but trojan horsing their tank with a big hairy Russian goal scoring machine. I’ve gotta start covering more of that on the twitter. What a time to be a D.C sports fan. Thank god we got some ships while we could because it looks like we’re gonna be doing a lot of waiting for more. When is the last time that has happened? Has it ever? The full tank. We had 15 years with a great hockey team. John Wall and Brad gave us good hoops for their stretch together. Baseball has been spotty but our farm system always manages to produce studs. I mean literally half of the Phillies roster used to play for us. Thank god they lost I hate that city. DC would 100% be the worst major sports city if it wasn’t for Rendon, Soto, Ovechkin, and Kusnetsov.

It’s super easy to be pessimistic right now and claim that we are the worst team in the NFL. But realistically, we are going to find ways to win some games. One of them will probably be the Dolphins because we have absolutely no business winning that one. Or they’ll put up 70 on us. Probably the latter. But we will do everything in our power to get a draft pick between number 10 and 20. We will crash land our way into a 6-9 season and a mid round pick just like every year since we’ve gotten Chase.

It’s gotten so bad that I don’t even want to gamble on us anymore. I feel like I would be a lot better off just spending it on beer or other activities that bring me happiness. Gambling on this team doesn’t bring me any of that. The amount of people that I advertised us scoring 21 points to was too many. I don’t know why I get my hopes up anymore. Like there is no reason to even try convincing myself that we are going to produce good football anymore. I truly do believe that the majority of my gambling losses come from that fact that I born into rooting for a bunch of franchises that blow. Of course I was a gambler during the Caps golden years. That’s a huge miss in my eyes.

I watch this team because I want to see touchdowns. And I haven’t been seeing enough touchdowns this year. It pisses me off. It’s not that much to ask for. The one touchdown every game bet lost 3 games into the season. Honestly, the fact that I am still able to find confidence in this team after that happened is remarkable. It’s very concerning from a gambling perspective. I am telling myself now that I am limiting my gambling to just Terry and BRob from now on. We all know that isn’t going to happen but I will keep telling myself it is and maybe it’ll save me some money.

I summed up my thoughts about our game with the Eagles earlier in the blog. These games always have a few things in common: Terry going off, AJ Brown going off, our quarterback somehow being protected well, at least 3 tush pushes, it coming down to the last few drives, and a Brian Robinson touchdown. Despite all of the shit I’ve talked about us over this blog, I am going to take us to win 27-21. I think Terry, BRob, and Sam will score touchdowns with 2 field goals. Joey will probably miss a kick as well. I think Jalen will both turn it over once. The interception will be thrown to Kam Curl. He will return the interception for 17 yards to the 24 yard line followed by a strike to Terry 2 plays later. I’ve got the script just trust me on this. Hope everyone has a great rest of their week. Only one more sleep till the weekend. Let’s make it a good one. Skins by 90.
