We are back after the bye week. In past years, I have always taken this on off. I’ll be honest and say I had a great time last Sunday not watching us play football. It was refreshing to wake up knowing I didn’t have to waste 3 hours of my day watching us lose. It is actually very unfortunate to see we once again have another prime time game tonight. I am surprised we were not flexed out of anything. Who really wants to watch us play at this point? I definitely don’t.
Two weeks ago against the Dolphins was one of the more pathetic football games I have seen in my life. Both teams were legitimately trying to lose. The going for it on 4th down when a field goal puts you ahead or sending a guy who has never returned an NFL punt to catch one. That was a tank bowl at its finest. Both coaches really left it all out on the field in an effort to lose this game. Fortunately for our draft pick, we prevailed in the whoever loses really wins game.
It’s unfortunate this one was the NFL’s debut in Spain. This definitely wasn’t the best showing from the league. However, it will be a trivia fact that Deebo was the first NFL player to score a touchdown in Spain. I will be keeping that one in my back pocket. I do find it funny to see how many international fans root for the Dolphins. From what I heard, everyone who traveled over enjoyed their time. I forgot there’s a lot more to do in Madrid than just go to football games. I have never been so how I am supposed to know.
I am quite shocked that Mike McDaniel still has his job. It seems like he doesn’t even want it anymore. I would like to make it known if he does get fired I would like him to be our offensive coordinator. I think it’s become obvious that our success last season was more because of Jayden than Kliff. It is also safe to say Kliff should have taken a head coaching job when he had the chance. I am not sure if that opportunity will be showing itself again anytime soon at least in the NFL.
Then again, history repeats itself. If he took a new job somewhere else, then there’s a good chance he would become one of the best coaches in the league. We’ve seen the coaches picture that always shows up on random prime time games when we aren’t even playing. It has also historically been an issue with players. Emmanuel Forbes has become a competent starter for the Rams. At this point it’s just expected, every player we get rid of learns how to play football again once they are out of Washington.
Now to get into the Denver game tonight. I think we are going to lose. I will not be betting Broncos spread, but if I were to endorse a pick that would be it. There’s the outlook in a nutshell. We finally have Terry back. However, his comeback is just in time to line up against one of the best corners in the league. I wouldn’t consider the Broncos offense anything special whatsoever. But, they will probably end up looking like the best in the league against us. But, who knows. I should be more optimistic about this team but they make it very hard.
I am very ready for NFL football to be over with. I am not excited to watch this game tonight. This is the first and likely only home game I will be missing this year. I didn’t have it in me to drive to Landover tonight. God bless all the soldiers out there who plan to attend this game. Excluding Christmas, this is our last prime time game. I would like to apologize to the fans around the NFL for having to put up with watching us every other week this season. It sucks more for us than it does for you. Anyways, looking forward to writing back after the Broncos game.
