I am just going to start by saying Johnny Manziel is savage and beast. “Fuck your practice. I’m the best player in the country.” That has to be one of the best one liners I have heard in a long time. His downfall was sad to watch. The girlfriend situation was very ambiguous and there has to be a lot more to that. I did not like that part. He is definitely bipolar and is not perfect but are any of us? I really don’t want to write about those things so I would rather just acknowledge the fact that Johnny Football is the fucking man. He was so addicted to partying that it literally ruined his football career. I’m happy I don’t have to say life because it seems like he is doing quite well in Scottsdale. It wasn’t one of those documentaries like Netflix’s Quarterback where they tried to make him look like the best guy ever. He is a piece of shit and he owns it. He literally can’t hear you because there’s too much fucking money in his hand. No matter how hard the world tries to change him. He has proven you can’t take that dog out of him.
The stories his agent told were awesome. That guy was a really good story teller. Johnny could not have tried to fuck up his draft stock any harder. The breaking of golf clubs and the Texan’s owners finding out was great. He couldn’t wait any longer to party and caused some potential drug test issues. I wonder what one night out with this guy was like during his peak. If Drake and Lebron are fired up to hang out with you, then you must be the man. He truly did balance partying and playing quarterback like we have never seen before. I can see why the whole NFL thing never really worked out.
Now, that it all is said I done. I do really think we can say he was the most exciting and electric college football player ever. The highlights they were showing throughout the documentary were insane. The spin move where he breaks the guys ankles. The entire Alabama game. It was like playing Madden on Rookie mode. He easily has one of the best college highlight tapes ever. I have to mention Tavon Austin if I am going to bring up college tapes. It was funny to see the credit they gave to Kliff Kingsbury. He had to let everyone know that Johnny was his guy. Maybe, he’s trying to get into a front office. He didn’t do a great job with the Cardinals, but his home draft set up during COVID was pretty sick. The most impressive part about Johnny is that he did it all with nothing but pure talent. He was just naturally so much better than everyone else on the field. He definitely should have known that wasn’t going to play forever. It’s an aggressive strategy to watch 0.00 seconds of film in the NFL. He did not even try to turn on the iPad and walk away from it. That’s just baller shit.
It goes to show how he did not live in the same world as everyone else for those years. He lived the Friday Night Lights dream in high school and then went to A&M where he was able to do whatever he wanted. He made them so much money and was invincible. I want to find the 4th string quarterback that was peeing in the cup for his drug tests. I’m sure that guy has some crazy stories. The oil money lie was incredible I don’t understand how that played. The autographs thing I am convinced so many players have done in the past. If somebody wanted my signature for thousands of dollars, I don’t think I would be able to say no. I don’t even want to think about how much money he would be worth if NIL was a thing when he was in college. The number just makes me feel bad for him. He got fleeced.
For those few years, he was one of the coolest people in the world. He knew it and was a huge, massive douche about it, but you still have to respect it. I wish his NFL career would have worked out, yet I am not surprised in the slightest that it didn’t. Overall, he is no role model. He is definitely savage, beast, and full of great one liners. He is anything but chill. He is Johnny Manziel. And he rocks.
