Holy fuck ladies and gents. This series was the definition of an action packed toilet bowl, with the winning team being the one who sucked less. That being said, wins are wins and if you don’t like the way they’re done, that’s because you’ve never won anything – MJ.
Nats/Athletics Series Result: 3-0
This first game was a wash. I certainly do not think Blackburn has any business in a starting rotation, while the Nats responded with their bullpen for the whole game. Other than two first innings runs, solid pitching. Thank you Ruiz and Garrett for showing up to play. This is how this game should’ve gone and we should expect nothing less against the A’s.
The next two games were a fucking whirlwind. Jake Irvin continues to impress with a dominant outing with 6ks in 6.2 innings. Tell me u don’t think this guy fits the profile. I fuckin dare you. This man was built in a lab for creating starting pitchers in Today’s mlb. Cy young talent within the next five years. Also, when was the last time you saw a walkoff home run by our boys. As I (raptor) was in attendance for this game (yes I went to a Nats/Athletics game in august), watching that moment was pretty exciting and made me wish I had bought seats two rows below where it ended up. Needless to say, drinks were flowing after that hit.
Sunday’s game is what everyone thought the series would be. Errors. Not only errors, but errors that lose you the game in the bottom of the ninth. Good thing it wasn’t on our end, cuz that shit doesn’t fly around here. If you see Williams pitching for the Nats, do not take our ml or under.
Also, shoutout to Stone Garrett. Big time at bats this series with some key hits. God damn does he fill out those pants.
Boston Series Outlook
If we play the way we did against the A’s against this Red Sox team, get ready to be beat down pretty bad. The Sox are hitting second best in the league since the start of July, and they want to extend their season. Be ready to watch Tuesday’s matchup of Josiah Gray vs. Nick Pivetta. Fuck Pivetta. Straight up overrated. Gray has been more than strong since being named an all star. Gotta love the players performing with some pressure applied. I would love to see the Nats finish above .500 this year, which was a long shot two months ago. Be last year’s Baltimore Orioles. Finish the season strong with your young talent and come out next year firing. I will be in attendance on Wednesday, so I’ll leave this with fuck Bello and fuck the Sox, Nats in 3.
