Week 1: Fantasy Football Reactions and Thoughts – Sam Howell Must Pick Up

The first week of the season is the perfect time to overreact to every player’s performance in fantasy football. Week 1 says it all so we now know if our teams are going to suck this year or not. I am going to give some comments on the players who performed and on the other hand shit on the players who failed to meet their expectations, respectfully of course.

Mega Booms

Sam Howell – Never lost.

Booms (over 20 points PPR)

Tua – Well Tyreek is gonna carry him for another year

Deshaun Watson – Rub downs paying off

Justin Herbert – Imagine if he was the Skins quarterback

Anthony Richardson – I am all about the hype

Bijan – First game so far meeting expectations

Ekeler – Nice to see first round picks performing

McCaffrey – Still the same guy from the last 5 years

Aaron Jones – Honestly, did not see this one coming

Tyler Allgeier – Very unexpected to see both Falcons RBs going over 20

Travis Etienne – Pete Prisco Jags Superbowl take looking good

Tony Pollard – They were just killing clock all game

Tyreek – Not surprising

Jefferson – I don’t even know if him over 20 points is considered a boom. Should probably be 30

Pittman – He will be starting from now on in the work league

Stefon Diggs – Needed him to have less than 23 in one league and he had 22. GGs

Jakobi Meyers – Might have a great year but nobody will notice because it’s in Vegas

Brandon Aiyuk – At least two people on that offense are going to pop off every week

Calvin Ridley – I hope he made some money from his own performance

Cowboys D – They are going to give teams with below average O-lines big problems

Thoughts:

All of the top 10 running backs performed. Actually, 6 of the top 10 picks ended up putting up over 20 points. Kelce was out. Kupp was in the top 10 for most people when drafting and now he’s done. Something to note – no tight ends scored over 20 points. Only 4 scored in the double digits. That is pretty nuts if you ask me. Kelce will be back next week I and would like to assume he will be scoring over 20 pretty much every week from here on out. It was great to see Calvin Ridley breaking out in his first game back. He looked so fast in that one pre season video so you could say pretty much everyone knew this was coming.

Kirk Cousins and Geno Smith Tier

Kirk Cousins – Played like Kirk Cousins

Geno Smith – Played like Geno Smith

Thoughts:

No thoughts.

Busts (completely objective)

Aaron Rodgers – That was fun while it lasted

Joe Burrow – Income Effect (the more money you make, the less hard you work)

Jalen Hurts – played like shit, lost me my bet, has so much leeway to suck

Josh Allen – Lost to Zach Wilson

Lamar Jackson – Please don’t tell me he forgot how to throw and run the ball

Johnathon Taylor – Figure it out

Antonio Gibson – Bad fumble. Bieniemy will find a way to use him

Jahmyr Gibbs – He needed to see the league for a week. With Dan on that

Rashaad Penny – Why did so many running backs go to the Eagles?

Deandre Swift – Are both of these dude’s careers fucked?

Josh Jacobs – Just expected a lot more

Jamaal Williams – Week ¼ of when he has starter value down the shitter

Jamar Chase – Joe fucking sucked

Tee Higgins – Joe fucking sucked so badly

Tyler Lockett – Might be a too many weapons situation

Christian Kirk – His time will come. Still very high on him

Brandin Cooks – They didn’t need to throw the ball

Pitts – Shit show. Imagine him and Kelce running around in Kansas City. Nobody ever let that happen

Dallas Goedert – Hurts also played like shit

George Kittle – Too many weapons

Darren Waller – Dallas D

Thoughts:

This is all of the guys who I expected to put up a respectable week but did not meet my personal expectations. The quarterback grouping of busts is very surprising. I cannot express how sad it was watching Aaron Rodgers go down. That team was going to be so fun to watch but now with Zach Wilson at QB I will probably not be watching their games when the Skins aren’t playing this year. Joe Burrow was so fucking horrible holy shit. He didn’t even manage to get 4 points. I would’ve appreciated knowing that he threw 4 picks in the season opener last year. I probably would not have started him knowing that and the ankle injury this week. Actually, I am such a liar and would have definitely started him. It was a horrible week for tight ends. Especially in the midst of the whole let’s start getting tight ends paid too movement.

In preparation for football, we will be doing our best to give you all picks and tweet out players who we think are the booms and busts of the upcoming week. Will definitely try to be better about getting these types of articles out sooner. It’s been a busy week.
